Albert David Sanders was born on September 15th, 1816 to David Sanderson and Amy Wheeler in Whately, MA.  He was the second of four children.  He lived mostly with the family until his marriage.  He did spend some time attending the Sheldon English and Classical School in Southampton, MA.  we know he was in attendance in 1930 along with Jonathan Judd, who would oversee Sarah Wheeler Sander's wedding.

He married Jane Elizabeth Tileston on September 13th, 1839.  She was the daughter of  Elisha Tileston(1789-1856) and Sebra Bangs(1794-1861).  Albert may have moved to Williamsburg before this, but I haven't been able to find any evidence.  Jane and Albert are living together in Williamsburg by 1840.  This was likely in the Haydenville area given what we know from his will.  The couple appears to have not been able to have children.  They adopted Lucy Ann Reed, daughter of Albert's Sister Sarah, sometime after her birth on February 5th, 1848.

By 1850, they are living with Jane's parents, Lucy and a 20 year old servant from Ireland named Isabella Cronley.  Albert is in Manufacturing and Jane's father is a Lumber Dealer.  Sometime before this, Albert must have made his money.  Some of it probably came from his father, but he must have been brilliant in business.

Sometime between 1852 and 1855 the family adopted Eleanor S. and Everett R. Baxter.  Eleanor had been born on July 20, 1844 to Samuel R. Baxter and Sarah in Eastford, CT.  Everett was born on January 7th, 1849.  He may have been named George at first.  Their father died on June 17th, 1852 and their mother on July 28th, 1852 of Consumption(Tuberculous). I have not been able to find a connection between the families other then they were both living in the Northampton area.  I suspect Albert and Jane adopted them through the church.  I haven't been able to track Eleanor.  Everett married Jennie Lola Gleason and moved to Minnesota.

By 1855, they are no longer living with Jane's parents.  Lucy is listed as Lilly.  They have a 19 year old Irish servant named Mary Shae.  Albert is Cotton and Brass Manufacturing.  In 1857, the firm has an office at 306 Pearl, New York, New York.  Jane's father dies of Consumption in 1856.  In 1858, Albert was a Representative on the Massachusetts State Legislature.

In 1860, Jane's mother has moved in with the family.  Eleanor is listed as Nellie and Lucy is still going by Lilly.  They have a 20 year old Irish servant named Hannah Fitsgerald living with them.  There is also someone named Martha Fitsgerald, age 22 living at this house, I suspect this is Hannah's sister and also a servant by the census doesn't document it.  Albert is still in manufacturing and has real estate worth $4,000 and a personal estate of $40,000.  Jane's mother dies of Heart Disease on January 26th, 1861 and Jane dies of Consumption on December 15th, 1861.  Albert remakes his will on January 15th, 1862.  As we saw he spells out an inheritance of $64,000. That is about $1.6 Million in dollars today.

Albert died of a fever on October 8th, 1862 in Williamsburg, MA.  His death was announced in the New York Evening Post.  He is buried alongside his wife in the High Street Cemetery in Haydenville, MA.
