Freedom by Cecilia Loftus |
I found this clipping of a poem in amongst my Great Grandaunts papers.
FREEDOMI can go on my way without your aid,And lift a fearless face up to the sky,
Singing a song of thanks that I am I
To the kind gods who made me unafraid.
Sometimes the lonely journey has seemed long,
And I have thought and feared I needed you,
But you have taught me what I knew was true,
That only Solitude could make me strong.
