Happy Thanksgiving,
I posted about this back in 2016, but it doesn't hurt to repost. My kids have a book on Thanksgiving they got through scholastic at some point, In it, there is a description of life on the Mayflower including this section:
"During the long voyage the Pilgrim children played games, slept, and talked about what their new homes in America would be like. Sometimes they were bored and got into trouble. One boy almost blew up the Mayflower when he shot a gun near some of kegs of gunpowder."
Wright cousins, meet our 8th Great Grandfather(if your of my generation) Francis Billington.
Our other Mayflower ancestors are:
- 9th Great Grandfather: His father, John Billington, who was hanged for the murder of John Newcomen.
- 9th Great Grandmother: His mother, Eleanor, who spent time in the stocks for slandering John Doane.
- 9th Great Grandfather: Richard Warren.
- 9th Great Grandfather: Thomas Rogers, died in the winter of 1620/21 so did not make the first Thanksgiving.
- 8th Great Grandfather: Joseph Rogers, son of Thomas Rogers.
