Where the Wright family Immigrants came from-The Wright Iine(s) and Kelvedon Hatch

One of my Wright cousins ask where she should see in England tied to our ancestry.  Of course, this is the type of question that should be easy to answer, but takes you down multiple rabbit hole.  That being said, I will try an answer it in this and other upcoming posts.  These are the best answers I have based on what I know, but I have not validated all the research and therefore some could be wrong.

I'll immediately start with a problem.  There is a discrepancy in the research my Mother did and what others have done on the Wright line around the ancestry of Deacon Samuel Wright.  The good news is both cases it takes you back to Kelvendon Hatch.  So this is a must see.

I'm going to step forward in time from John Wright (1488-1551) who was my 13th Great Grandfather and first Wright to own Kelvedon Hall  But I will give you each alternative line.

• 13th Great Grand Father: John Wright (1488-1551), born in Kelvedon Hatch, Essex, England

• 12th Great Grandfather: John Wright (1510-1563) Born born in Kelvedon Hatch, Essex, England.
• 11th Great Grandfather: John Wright (1548-1625) Born in Wrightsbridge, London, England
• 10th Great Grandfather: Nathaniel Wright (1581-1643) Born in Wrightsbridge, London, England or John Wright(1569-?) Born in London, England
• 9th Great Grandfather: Samuel Wright(1607 or 1614-1665) Born in London, Immigrated to North America.
• 8th Great Grandfather: Samuel Wright(1632-1675) Born in London, immigrated to North America.  Died in a native american raid in Northfield, MA.
• 7th Great Grandfather: Joseph Wright(1657-1697) Born in Northampton, MA.
• 6th Great Grandfather: Joseph Wright(1681-1758) Born in Northampton, MA.
• 5th Great Grandfather: Asa Wright(1710-1760) Born in Northampton, MA.
• 4th Great Grandfather: Asa Wright(1741-1789) Born in Northampton, MA. Married to Esther Wright, also a descendant of Samuel Wright.
• 3rd Great Grandfather: Joseph Wright(1778-1825) Born in Northampton, MA.
• 2nd Great Grandfather: Asa Wright(1819-1883) Born in Northampton, MA.
• Great Grandfather: David Joy Wright(1851-1908) Born in Northampton, MA.
